During this current time...
The early Christians in the city of Rome were facing some tough times. They were persecuted and unpopular. The result was that the Christians went to the catacombs to worship. They worshipped in underground tombs because the Romans wouldn’t go there. Aren’t you glad we live in the United States in the year 2020! While there is real danger with Covid-19 we are not persecuted and we get to worship in the comfort of our own homes!!
This Sunday at 10 AM, we will have a focused online service at Amazing Grace.
- We’ll have sermon notes/Branches Bible study to download like normal.
- We’ll take prayer requests.
- And we’ll hear God’s Word together, Pray and Praise God together.
For those of you who haven’t used our livestream services here’s what you do.
- Go to our Messages page
- We’ll be live streaming starting at 9:45 (so I would go on a little early to make sure everything is working.)
- Text 503-308-3554 for any prayers that you would like us to pray for in our public online service.
- You can download the sermon notes and our Branches (small group) weekly Bible study.
And finally remember to:
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7
--Pastor Johnson, Amazing Grace
What happens on a typical Sunday morning
That’s a great question and it’s always “fun” to go to a place for the first time and not know what’s going to happen. Will I have to stand up and introduce myself? (NO) Will the pastor call on me in the sermon? (NO) Will I be bored out of my mind? (We hope not!)
Clothing: Wear what you are comfortable with in public. God looks at the heart. So dress up or come casual it’s all good with us.
Offering: You are our guest. We don’t want anyone giving to our church until they know what we stand for and have full confidence that we are going to use any gifts wisely and for the glory of God. So let that plate pass—guilt free!

What can I expect?
A typical Sunday
9:45-10:00am Come into the sanctuary and listen to the music, take some time to think, pray, read the Bible or get to know someone new.
9:45am This is as early as you can check the kids into the Nursery (Infant—5) or 'Zing (5-14). (See below for more about 'Zing.)
10:00am The service begins with song and prayer. Then we dig into God’s Word. The pastor leads us through a study in the Bible. This is where we get to really listen to what God is saying to us in our world and life.
10:45am 'Zing Kids join their families in the sanctuary for the rest of the service, songs, and prayer. (We celebrate the family of believers who have gone before us and praise God that countless people join them in our times. Because of that we use songs and elements of worship both traditional and contemporary.)
11:15am The service ends by 11:15am at the latest. Stay and Say "hi" to someone you don’t know—they may be a lifelong member or brand new. Pick up any kids from the nursery (very important that one) and have a great week!
What's the culture like at Amazing Grace?
Sunday's at Amazing Grace are exciting, casual, and relaxed. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest.
What about my kids?
We believe that kids should have a blast at church every single week - and at 'Zing, we make this a priority. The other thing we make a priority is your children’s safety. Because of that, we have a detailed check-in process for our Kids the first time that you visit. You’ll want to leave yourself an extra ten minutes to get signed in at the check in table.
'Zing is offered every Sunday.
There is a Nursery for kids ages 1-5 where they can be during the entire worship service. They will be able to play, hear a Bible story, and sing songs. A snack will be provided. (Let the Nursery Care Giver know if your child has any allergies, or there are foods you like them to avoid. This can also be noted in the computer when you sign them in and will appear on their name tag.)
Kids in Kindergarten through 4th grade get a message from the Bible each week as well as a variety of activities, games, crafts and singing which all teach the story and how we can apply it to our daily lives. We also focus on learning a Bible verse each month and getting familiar with our own Bibles.
Teens and 'Tweens (5th-8th grades)
During the school year they meet the first 3 Sundays of the month, hang out in the teen room and discuss what the BIble has to say on a variety of topics. They join their families in church after the sermon.
